Greetings from 30A!

I hope you've all been having a fantastic summer! I know I have, especially since my family has ventured down to Rosemary Beach, Florida. Compared to Texas weather, Florida has been an absolute dream. I could not have asked for a better vacation! I was looking forward to making a look-book post, but that was completely out of the picture as we all truly embraced our inner beach-bum, wearing a swimsuit 99% of the time and a huge t-shirt the other 1%. So, I hope you all enjoy this beach bag essential post instead!

The first step in gathering your beach bag essentials is finding the perfect beach bag. I brought two along with me, my trusty Fjallraven Kanken backpack and my new, super-cute Outdoor Voices canvas bag.

I've been rocking a Kanken since 2016, and the purple bag is actually my second one. I have a giant pink one for school and my mini purple Kanken for any excursions. If I've learned anything through my two bags, Kankens are completely life proof! As for Outdoor Voices, it is my most current obsession. I have spent way too much of my paycheck there! The brand is completely paper-free, so with each purchase you get a canvas tote. Could they be any more perfect?

Now it's time to gather all of our essentials.

With these fourteen products, you will be completely set for the perfect beach day (which frankly, is every day at the beach. just saying).

I'll start with the most important item in your beach bag: WATER!

Your skin is never as happy as it is when you are drinking enough water. Not only should you be drinking lots of water regardless of the setting or season, but you should be especially concerned while at the beach. You will most likely be spending hours surrounded by the hot sun and salt water, which is the perfect combination for dehydration. Stay hydrated out there!

Everyone loves coming home from the beach with a nice, bronze tan. However, too much time in the sun can lead to painful sun-burns, premature aging, eye damage, and ultimately, skin cancer. It's okay to tan, but make sure you are being extra careful and protecting your skin.

To protect your skin, I suggest using the following products:

Sunglasses are an essential for any vacation, especially at the beach! Not only can they protect your eyes from harmful UV ray damage, but sunglasses can also prevent fine lines around the eyes caused by squinting. My sunglasses are by Corinne McCormack in the 'Annette' style. Unfortunately, they aren't sold anymore, so I linked a similar pair.

Your lips are just as sustainable to sunburns as the rest of your skin. To make sure my lips are protected, I use Sun Bum's SPF 30 banana lip balm. It smells delicious! They have tons of other lip balms on their website as well. I also use their products on my skin and face. I am a big Sun Bum supporter, and I use the SPF 50 spray (I ran out, so I couldn't take a picture) as well as the SPF 30 face stick.

Underneath the Sun Bum face stick, I apply EltaMD's UV clear SPF 46 moisturizer. This product is great for acne-prone skin, and I use it daily.

Last but not least, ALWAYS WEAR A HAT! Wearing a hat is truly the easiest way to keep your face out of the sun's harmful reach. I spent my time in Florida rocking my super-cute England hat (which yes, I did buy on my trip!), but since it's from the UK, I decided to attach an equally cute Texas hat.

A beach trip isn't complete without a handful of beachy beauty items! I typically don't wear makeup to the beach, but you can never go wrong with having a few items on hand just in case. When I think of beach beauty, I think of a very natural, radiant look.

With these items, you'll be sure to release your inner beach-babe:

Along with Outdoor Voices, Pacifica has been a huge summer obsession for me. All of their products are vegan, cruelty-free, and won't do too much damage on your bank-account. My go-to mascara has been the Stellar Gaze mascara; it keeps my lashes looking naturally long and feel healthier. I've also been loving their Salty Waves texture spray. Not only does it smell amazing, but it also makes my hair look like I came straight from the beach!

No beach look is complete without a little bit of color. Bobbi Brown's illuminating bronzing powder is my favorite bronzer of all time! It adds a very flattering depth to my cheekbones as well as a nice, bronzy glow. To make sure you are truly glowing, there is only one highlighter for the job. I am serious when I say I would die for Fenty Beauty's Trophy Wife Killawat highlighter! It is such a beautiful gold-perfect for every skin tone.

If you've ever traveled with me, you would know that I carry about six lip balms on me at all times. Glossier's Balm Dot Com is one of mt favorite formulas, so it's only fitting that I have the perfectly beachy coconut flavor! It seriously smells like a fresh coconut! To add onto the coconut theme, where would I be without a refreshing face spray? Kopari's coconut rose toner always helps restore and make my skin feel truly incredible.

Now for the ultimate beach essentials...

I bet you're wondering, what on earth could she possibly have left? Well let me ask you an even better question: where would you be without your trusty pair of headphones and a great book?

That's what I thought.

The entire Florida trip, I have been glued to All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven.

It is just the sweetest story, and Niven's writing is seriously addictive. I have fallen in love with the characters over and over again! The book is being made into a movie, so make sure you read it while you can! I promise you won't regret it.

Sorry for keeping you reading for so long, but I hope you enjoyed the post as much as I enjoyed making it! Make sure to click on each of the pictures to see each of the products and have a great rest of your summer!

Xoxo, Grace
